Thai Food History
Among
the cuisines of Southeast Asia, Thai food is unique. Thai cuisine is
distinct from Chinese and Indian cuisines, both of which influenced Thai
cooking. Thai cooking is completely identifiable in its own right,
incorporating all 5 tastes: sweet, sour, bitter, salty, and spicy. Thai
people have taken foreign influences and transformed them into a cuisine
uniquely their own.Thailand was a cross roads of East to West sea
routes causing its culture and cuisine to be infused with Persian and
Arabian elements. Foreign recipes have been integrated with traditional
Thai dishes, resulting in unique flavor that is unmistakably Thai. The
'Tai' people migrated from valley settlements in the mountainous region
of Southwest China (now Yunnan province) between the sixth and
thirteenth centuries, into what is now known as Thailand, Laos, the Shan
States of upper Burma, and northwest Vietnam. Influenced by Chinese
cooking techniques, Thai cuisine flourished with the rich biodiversity
of the Thai peninsula. As a result, Thai dishes today have some
similarities to Szechwan Chinese dishes.

Thailand's Beach Hotels
Sai Thong Resort, Koh Tao:-While
the nearby gulf islands of Samui and Phangan have been long-term draws
for beach-loving travellers, the smaller Koh Tao has only recently
emerged as one of Thailand's headline destinations. Primarily Tao is
famed for its diving – shallow waters, easy currents, epic corals and
whale sharks pull in the crowds – with numerous scuba-diving schools
based here. But much of this small island still has a tranquil
get-away-from-it-all vibe, and the pick of the places to indulge that
atmosphere is the Sai Thong, the only resort on the tiny Sai Nuan beach.
Sai Thong's tidy wooden fan-cooled bungalows are simply furnished and
all have balconies, hammocks and private bathrooms. The owners are
incredibly friendly, the food's excellent and vistas include the
almost-private white sand beach and a massive boulder-strewn headland.
Superb snorkelling, plenty of nice spots to lounge and an unforgettable
arrival by long-tail boat complete the picture.

How To Spend 4 Days In Bangkok
When people tell me they hate Bangkok, I understand. When I first
went to Bangkok in 2006, I despised the city and couldn’t wait to get
out. It’s not the best tourist city in the world. Outside of shopping and
a few temples, there’s not much to do. Plus, it’s dirty and it
smells. It wasn’t until I lived in the city that I really fell in love
with it.Bangkok is not a city that opens itself up easily, and most
people spend just a day or two here before leaving to go to the islands
or the jungle. But while as a tourist you may not need tons of time to
“see” the city, Bangkok has more than a few days’ worth of temples and
activities.

At its peak, the chedi measured 60 metres across at the square base and
80 metres tall and was once the home of the Emerald Buddha, Thailand's
most sacred religious relic. Damaged during an earthquake in 1545, the
chedi’s height is reduced to nearly half of its original size yet it is
still an impressive structure. In 1992, the Fine Arts Department
finished restoration work around the chedi, bringing back the naga
(water serpent) staircase on each of its faces and wonderful statues of
elephants adorning the base. The actual work on the chedi itself,
however, was never quite complete, leaving it in its present state.
